Film Overview
It’s not easy to remove a Confederate monument if it’s carved out of granite and lodged into the side of a mountain. This is the legacy of Stone Mountain Park in Georgia as experienced through the eyes of antiracist activists and Klansmen alike as this Black-majority community contends with the nation’s troubled history. Winner of the U.S. Competition Grand Jury Prize at DOC NYC 2024.Stone Mountain paints a portrait of life in the shadow of the world’s largest Confederate monument.
