Stop to Stop

Carolyn is overworked, overwhelmed, and over it. When an already frustrating morning at the office is punctuated by a nonstop stream of political spam messages, Carolyn loses her cool and replies to a text banker in a fury. Reveal Eric, said text banker, who is floored to discover that someone actually responded to his plea to get to the polls. Fate literally thrusts them together when they smash into each other in the park and accidentally pick up the other person’s dropped phone. Carolyn discovers Eric’s identity, swaps the phones back, and decides to spend her lunch break gleefully torturing an unwitting Eric via iMessage. She asks him ludicrous political question after ludicrous political question and is delighted as he squirms, struggling to answer her. But even though they cover vaccines, abortion, and Greenland, Eric does not let go of his goal. He will get her to the polls, no matter how off the rails she seems. Nevertheless, he persisted? And as he persists, Carolyn finds herself charmed by his passion and sincerity. All she wanted was revenge, but maybe now, she wants something more?
