Film Overview

STORAGE is literally an “underground” thriller. Set in the netherworld of a fluorescent-lit self-storage facility, its premise is that you never know who might be hiding something, or where. Jimmy is 17 and on good terms with his dad, though Dad likes Charles Bronson movies and Jimmy finds their fake violence laughable. On their way home from a Bronson flick, Dad is knifed to death by a street thug and there's nothing Jimmy can do to save him. Bereft and beating himself up over his inability to stop his dad's murder, Jimmy is persuaded by his Uncle Leonard to work with him in his self-storage facility. Fortunately for Jimmy, there's an intriguing girl named Zia who works there, too. Jimmy and Zia discover an intense customer named Francis, apparently hiding evidence of violence in a metal barrel in his storage unit, and Jimmy is determined to bring him to justice. Via the security cameras, Leonard catches the two young people stalking Francis and soon he takes matters into his own hands. What follows is a blood-soaked descent into the maze of the facility and the depths of the human soul. – B.B.
