About This Film
Film Overview
THE SUPER NOBLE BROTHERS are Milwaukee icons. From a young age, Davey, Tommy, and Andy were encouraged by their independent art dealer parents to pursue their artistic interests. Andy first experienced fame as the founding bassist of the Ska band, “The Pacers.” Watching his brother's popularity explode, Tommy emerged with his band, “The Thousandaires.” With two touring musician brothers, you would think that Davey would have been left in the dust. But his abstract painting was starting to get noticed, necessitating a move to Los Angeles, where he entered the art scene. Meanwhile, back in Milwaukee, with their bands' popularity starting to wane, Tommy and Andy revive their popularity by spinning rare funk and soul, eventually becoming nationally recognized for their record collection that they then open up to the public as Lotus Land Records – a store that is jam-packed with enough vinyl to make any self-respecting DJ pass out. Filmed at a fast-pace, director Mark Escribano sends us into the spinning world of the Noble brothers – their ups and downs, their successes and failures – and proves why they are truly super. – WFG
