SUPERSTAR: THE LIFE AND TIMES OF ANDY WARHOL

Undoubtedly one of the art world's most original and controversial figures, Andy Warhol not only created the term 'superstar,' he created Andy Warhol the Superstar, whose artistic efforts and media-wrangling have made the man immortal. Chuck Workman has captured the Warhol legend by piecing together clips from Warhol's many films, interviews he gave throughout his career, interviews with his family members, and with some of his contemporaries including Bobby Short, Fran Lebowitz, Sylvia Miles and Dennis Hopper. As in his Oscar winning 1986 short film PRECIOUS IMAGES, which won applause from 11th CIFF patrons, Workman tells the Warhol story by imaginatively editing together all the elements to form a complete and compelling portrait.
