TEDDY is a verité portrait of a male birth doula working to improve birth outcomes for Black women in Houston, Texas. A security guard by day, Timothy Gant Jr. trained to become a doula after hearing about his own mother’s birth story as a child. As a doula working predominantly with Black women, Timothy helps his clients achieve a positive, safe, and empowering birth on their terms.
