Tendaberry

Dakota and her boyfriend Yuri are madly in love. Inseparable, they spend their days exploring hidden places around New York City, creating their own world together in the process. But when Yuri abruptly returns to Ukraine to care for his ailing father, Dakota is left feeling hollow without him. To make matters worse, his departure coincides with the Russian invasion of Ukraine, making their communication nearly impossible as the war intensifies. Forced to make it on her own without her partner, in a much harsher version of the city than she once knew with Yuri, Dakota must overcome a growing number of obstacles in her path. Interweaving poetic musings on New York and Coney Island, TENDABERRY is a melodic and poignant story of time, despair, resilience, and rebirth. —G.S.
