Film Overview

SCREENING EXCLUSIVE TO FILMSLAM (GRADES 5-12 ONLY)TEOTWAWKI is a short film about a pre-teen whose Christian upbringing inspires her fear of the rapture. A coming-of-age dramedy, the film is set in 1999 where Y2K is ever-present in the day-to-day of the American public, and the feeling of dread looms in 12-year old protagonist Carina’s quotidian existence. The film is loosely inspired by my own childhood fear of the rapture and explores the often lonely and acutely dramatic place of a child’s imagination.
