THE EAR

br /> A political thriller with comic overtones, THE EAR is and exceptionally chilling and suspenseful film about fear. At an official reception, Ludvik, a government bureaucrat learns that many of his superiors have been detained. He fears that his name is next on Security's black list. Upon is return home, he and his wife, Anna, find that the door is open and the phone and electricity have been cut. In a panic, they race through the house destroying documents that might incriminate them. The terror of their nightmare peaks when a listening device is found in the bathroom. While Anna feverishly packs a bag for Ludvik to take to prison the doorbell rings. It's a false alarm, at least for the moment.
