About This Film
Film Overview
After 20 years of hosting a popular morning TV program, Antonis Paraskevas decides to stage his own kidnapping. With the help of his friend Filippos, who also owns the TV station, he is taken to a remote and oddly empty hotel to hide out while his return from captivity is carefully planned and staged. Antonio wants it to be legendary—the stuff of myth—to satisfy his fans and revive his career. But the plan quickly crumbles. He thinks Filippos is betraying him, trying to return him too soon or worse, not return him at all. What now? It isn't just his chance to return he may be losing; it may be his very connection to the world. Things in the hotel are becoming increasingly surreal, and events are beginning to spiral out of control. Everything is starting to assume the qualities of a myth, a very dark one. In THE ETERNAL RETURN OF ANTONIS PARASKEVAS, Antonis truly seems to have wandered off into a legend, one from which it seems very likely he may never return. (In Greek with subtitles) —C.R.
