About This Film
Film Overview
The main reason to see this film: You will never, ever see these images on American television. Shot over the last two years by risk-taking guerrilla filmmakers, THE FOURTH WORLD WAR criss-crosses the world?s hotspots as the filmmakers shoot from the hip and go where mainstream media can't – or won't. From the Jenin refugee camp at eye level with Israeli tanks, to the people of Chiapas staring down the Mexican army, to the streets of Argentina, South Korea, Genoa, South Africa and Iraq, wherever there is ongoing friction and fighting. Breaking all rules of documentary filmmaking, THE FOURTH WORLD WAR never fully explains the context of the images or what date they occurred. Instead, poet Suheir Hammad and singer Michael Franti of Spearhead provide lyrical voice-overs. By not being always specific, the filmmakers imply that a world war is currently raging all over the globe and we're the last to know.
