THE LAST MOGUL: LIFE AND TIMES OF LEW WASSERMAN

The landscape of Hollywood would look much different today without the influence of longtime legendary movie mogul Lew Wasserman. Born in Cleveland in 1913 to Russian-Jewish immigrants, Wasserman made his way west where he practically owned Hollywood; he was an early and sustaining player. He owned the Music Corporation of America (MCA) which later bought Universal Studios, and he?s credited with establishing the careers of many filmmakers, most notably Steven Spielberg. When Seagram bought MCA, Wasserman retired, but remained on the board until 1998. He died in 2002.
