The Major

Sergey Sobolev furiously weaves in and out of cars at high speeds, anxiously trying to get to the hospital to see his newborn son. Suddenly, he notices a woman and a young boy attempting to cross the street. As he tries to brake, ice on the road causes his SUV to slide. The vehicle collides with the child, killing him instantly and leaving his mother stunned. In that split second, several lives will be forever changed. Panic sets in for Sobolev, a police officer concerned with protecting his reputation as one of the town's prominent authority figures. Afraid of the public outcry it could bring, he and his crooked force hatch a disastrous plan to cover up the crime. The whole thing quickly backfires, causing a series of events that make the initial accident seem small by comparison. When Sobolev finally tries to salvage his only remaining chance at redemption, the glaring consequences of his actions become undeniably clear.
