The Mozart Brothers

This behind-the-scenes comedy/drama tells the tale of a radical young opera director who takes a conservative opera company by storm when he attempts to reconstruct Mozart's DON GIOVANNI. His objective is to breathe new life into this opera, to rid the performance of stereotypes by stripping it of its libretto and his singers of their hair and clothing–preferring instead colorful rags. The players think he's nuts and tell him so, but the director persists. Reminiscent of the Marx Brothers' A NIGHT AT THE OPERA, and Fellini's ORCHESTRA REHERSAL, this satirical comedy is an absolute joy for opera and theatre lovers.
