THE SECRET ADVENTURES OF TOM THUMB is an eerie stop-motion animation epic, bolder in style and substance than “The Nightmare Before Christmas”. A bug-infested shadowland blending past and future is where Tom Thumb is born, the result of a botched artificial insemination. A deformed mutant mere inches tall, Tom is taken to a high-tech “laboratorium” and caged in a gallery of sad monstrosities. Forget the dancing Russ Tamblyn and the George the Pal Puppetoons; this is a dark sci-fi reinvention of the Tom Thumb legend, pixillated to life by England's “bolexbrothers”, who make you wonder if those Brothers Grimm tales were just medieval lore…or prophecy.
