Film Overview
Set among the haunting perks and brooding mists of Tasmania's Central Highlands, THE TALE OF RUBY ROSE is the story of a woman's perilous journey under the shadow of death to gain new hope for herself and those she loves. Set in the 1930s, Ruby Rose lives with her Welsh immigrant husband and their foster son in a remote mountain hut. An outsider her entire life, she longs for romance and mystery. After her husband thwarts all of her attempts to civilize their lives, she resolves to act alone and leave her surroundings for something better. This film captures the rich heritage of highland life shared by those who dwell on the fringes of society.
