About This Film
Film Overview
April Epner's (Helen Hunt) life is falling apart. Her mother, who is seriously ill, would like to see a grandchild before she dies. Her husband (Matthew Broderick) decides he can no longer stay in their marriage. She's 39 and wants nothing more in the world than to have a baby. Is that possible? She doesn't think things can get much worse. But they do… She meets her birth mother, Bernice, doyenne of daytime talk (Bette Midler) who insinuates herself into April's life. But Bernice seems to be a pathological liar. Is she even April's mother? Bernice asks for 72 hours with April to get to know her… and to prove herself. Meanwhile, April has also become entangled with Frank (Colin Firth), the father of one of her elementary school students. Events come careening to a head. Will April's greatest wish come true? Everyone has a past… a present… and a sometimes painful future. What will it be for April? Adapted from the Elinor Lipman novel by the same name, THEN SHE FOUND ME is an intriguing story of love, family, and personal fulfillment. –CCP
