About This Film
Film Overview
Life in a toll booth is dull and dreary. Unfortunately for toll booth attendant Kenan, life on the outside is just as bad. A wry, dark comedy about a middle-aged man who regrettably lives with his sickly, yet overbearing father, TOLL BOOTH follows Kenan as the pressures of his home life and monotonous job spiral him into a mental breakdown. Depressed and resentful, Kenan keeps to himself, annoyed by the majority of his daily interactions with people. When he starts to imagine seeing the angry face of his father on drivers passing by, he is temporarily transferred to a less busy location. Here, his mind is free to wander more than ever. Upon meeting a beautiful woman who drives by his new booth at the same time every day, Kenan's luck seems to change. But as his daydreams turn into full-blown hallucinations, Kenan's mind unravels, taking him down a road from which he may not be able to return. (In Turkish with subtitles) – M.M.
