About This Film
Film Overview
After 12 years abroad, the stated goal of Nele's return home to Belgrade is marriage. But the memory of his friend Sima is distracting. Sima's suicide is everywhere in TOMORROW MORNING as Nele reunites with his four remaining friends. An impressive ensemble cast creates believable characters whose relationships are both tender and brutal. Their time together is marked mostly by getting drunk, having sex, and dealing with the aftermath of previously having had sex. Among them, Sasha, formerly Nele's girlfriend and currently an alcoholic, contributes most obviously to the raging case of guilt and jealously that marks the exile's return home. The story is pleasingly sparse with details, managing to be fueled by emotion without as much as a hint of sentimentality. Sudden cuts from scene to scene and simple cinematography lend an entirely genuine feel to a film that depicts a lost generation from a nation as equally conflicted.
