Film Overview

Three generations of Mexican American witches live together in a secluded trailer park in the Georgia mountains. The McCarthys have a long held belief that the youngest daughter of the youngest daughter will bend the elements of the earth to her will and change the course of history for witches and hill people alike. The problem is nine-year-old Fox, who is seemingly meant to fulfill this prophecy, is hell bent on becoming a Baptist preacher instead. We meet these eclectic women as they clean up the remains from a raucous party, bickering the way that only family can, until a distraught young man named Billy seeks out the women's help in order to fall out of love. After they cure Billy of his afflictions, Fox is made to clean up the magical mess but as her Grandmother and Mother return to their bickering, Fox interrupts them to reveal a flame that is perfectly cupped in her small hands. Even witches can’t fight destiny.
