About This Film
Film Overview
In one of the world's largest refugee camps, Nyarugusu, Tanzania, we meet 11-year-old Amisa and her family, who fled violence in the Congo only to face overcrowded shelters rife with a deadly disease. Malaria is the biggest killer here. Amisa recently recovered from the illness, but now her two baby sisters are showing symptoms. Told through Amisa’s perspective, this 360-degree Virtual Reality experience documents her family’s inspirational fight against malaria. It offers an intimate glimpse of what life is like for a refugee at the heart of the malaria epidemic and reveals how mosquito bed nets are a transformative solution to help prevent the disease threatening nearly half the world’s population. Part of the Perspectives exhibition for immersive storytelling, featuring Interactive Media, Virtual Reality, and more.
