Film Overview

Vincent’s third suicide attempt is yet again unsuccessful, much to his dismay. At the time of Vincent’s despondent homecoming from the hospital in Belgium, free-spirited Aunt Nikki graces the family with an untimely visit. While Nikki is a nuisance for his mother, 17-year-old Vincent sees his aunt’s arrival as an opportunity for a much-needed change of scenery when she offers to host him in Paris for a few days. But their carefree visit of sightseeing is plagued by Vincent’s unsolicited lectures on saving the whales, reducing our carbon footprint, and not consuming animals. Plus there is Aunt Nikki’s fickle, impulsive demeanor. Convinced his death will be the catalyst to save our dying planet, Vincent may unknowingly be the answer to his aunt’s own plea to be rescued when their lives spiral out of control. A captivating and ultimately inspiring look at the desire to escape, VINCENT AND THE END OF THE WORLD affirms a conflicted, dysfunctional family can at once be the death of you and your saving grace.
