Film Overview

Voice Shift follows trans women as they seek a voice that reflects their gender identity. Guided by a trans vocal coach, the film weaves together stories from different stages of people’s journeys. But this film is more than an exploration of vocal technique, this is a social commentary on the power and politics of voice. This documentary was commissioned by both Aesthetica Magazine and Audible after winning The Listening Pitch 2025, by answering this year’s programme question: “What can we hear if we listen right now?”
