About This Film
Film Overview
No one knows where Will Morrison (Lukas Haas) has been for the past five years. When he unexpectedly shows up at the secluded lake house of Mary and Arthur Bloom, the parent's of his childhood friend Daniel, he doesn't offer much information. He has been “away…all over,” working on a book about “nothing.” The next morning, at Mary's request,, magazine editor Daniel leaves his “crazy” life in New York to meet up with his long lost friend. But their reunion definitely isn't joyous. Since they last saw each other, Daniel has written the best-selling novel “Summer Babe,” which has been optioned for a movie, and Will could not care less about his friend's success. What's bothering Will is the book's subject, a steamy love triangle seemingly based on Will and Daniel's past. Later that day, the formerly quiet lake house makes room for one more visitor, Will's estranged wife Maggie. Though everyone is wondering where Will was, what happened before he left turns out to be much more interesting. In his solo writing/directing debut WHO LOVES THE SUN, Matt Bissonnette enraptures us in a smart, fresh character comedy with excellent performances. – E.J.B.
