About This Film
Film Overview
Newly minted 40-year-old Anna, a down-on-her-luck, garage-dwelling filmmaker, has some birthday resolutions: finally make a movie, lose 20 pounds (okay, maybe ten), and find a girlfriend. Next thing she knows, she’s already on her way to completing her list by finishing up the script for a post-feminist retelling of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? entitled, you guessed it, WHO’S AFRAID OF VAGINA WOLF? When the gorgeous Katia has a not-so-chance encounter with Anna’s left breast, Anna schemes up the perfect plan to lure her into courtship: cast her as the lead role in her movie. Sparks start flying as the cast begins performing Edward Albee’s story, but can they spare themselves the same fate as Albee’s doomed characters? Anna Margarita Albelo plays herself in this hilarious queer rendition of the twentieth century classic, complete with dancing vaginas, insightful glimpses into the filmmaking process, and a killer soundtrack. —C.P.
