About This Film
Film Overview
Diana Longden's debilitating flu has grown progressively worse, and despite weeks of tests and expert consulatations, the doctors are baffled. Frustrated in not being able to find a cause, they tell her husband, Deric, that the illness, which has now confined Diana to her bed, might be a product of her own hysteria. Left without medical support, Deric and Diana are left with only their love for one another, and their wonderful sense of humor, to keep them going. But even these resources are put to the test when Deric finds himself attracted to another woman. Julie Walters (“Educating Rita”) and Jim Broadbent (“The Crying Game”) star in WIDE-EYED AND LEGLESS, a love story told with humor and compassion. Screenwriter Jack Rosenthal adapted Deric Longden's books “Diana's Story” and “Lost For Words” to bring this true and moving story to the screen.
