About This Film
Film Overview
Pia is a spunky girl who recently lost her father and has started taking refuge in her tree house. Meanwhile, somewhere in Tibet, trapper Van Sneider careens through the snow collecting wild creatures for an evil Zoo Director who likes to stuff them. YOKO, an adorable Yeti child with long eyelashes and an impish grin, accidentally ends up in Van Sneider’s truck heading back to Germany. Yoko escapes the Zoo Director and finds his way to Pia’s tree house, where she catches him dancing to funky grooves on her MP3 player. When he learns the Yeti has slipped his grasp, the enraged Zoo Director sends out bumbling Van Sneider to bring the rare creature back. But Yoko, who’s mischievous as a ten-year-old but tranquil as a monk, needs to get back to the frosty Himalayas. Can Pia elude the clueless grownups and return her new friend to his mountain home? It will take all the kid power she can muster, plus a little bit of magic. (In German with subtitles) – B.B.
