You Carry Me

The stories of three strong women converge in YOU CARRY ME. Their connections are seemingly loose. But in a world where everything is ultimately intertwined, the events of their lives will have a profound impact on each other. The most obvious threads holding them together are their jobs on a television soap opera. Ives is a producer, who is nearly driven to madness due to the stress of taking care of her Alzheimer's-afflicted father. Natasa is a pregnant bigwig, harboring a deep secret while dealing with her unfaithful boyfriend. Lidija is a secretary with two young kids (one of which, Dora, is excellently played by Helena Beljan). Their father has lived a life of crime, but is trying incredibly hard to stay straight for his children; he’s trouble, but also endearing in his efforts. Thanks to a terrific script and extremely thorough character development, this emotionally charged film will stick with you. We are tangled together in the web of life and, regardless of outside appearances, it’s always a little messy. (In Croatian with subtitles) –E.F.
