Help shape the future of independent film by joining the Cleveland International Film Festival's Screening Team. As a CIFF screener, you'll play an important role in evaluating submissions and helping identify the films that could become part of CIFF51.

Screening Terms
Applicants may serve one or both screening terms:
Term 1: Week of August 10, 2026 – Week of October 12, 2026
Term 2: Week of October 12, 2026 – Week of January 18, 2027
Depending on your assigned cohort, all film ratings and written comments must be submitted by 9:00 AM every Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday.
Weekly Commitment
Each week, you’ll be assigned either:
- Two (2) feature-length films, or
- Five (5) short films
Screeners are expected to thoughtfully evaluate each film, providing insightful, respectful, and constructive feedback. Assignments may include a variety of genres, styles, and subject matter, so applicants should be prepared to review all types of films.
CIFF51 Screener Benefits
As a thank-you for your dedication:
- Complete one full term in good standing and receive one (1) CIFF51 Festival Pass.
- Complete both terms in good standing and receive two (2) CIFF51 Festival Passes.
To qualify, screeners must complete 100% of their assigned reviews during their selected term(s).
Please note: Festival passes awarded to screeners are separate from CIFF memberships and do not include membership benefits.

- If you anticipate needing scheduling flexibility, please contact Robbie at screeningteam@clevelandfilm.org before the weekend. Accommodation requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
- To ensure broader community participation, only one screener application will be accepted per household.
