Local Brands Join CIFF to Celebrate 50 Years of Film

CIFF Celebrates 50 Years with Exclusive Local Brand Collaborations

In celebration of its milestone 50th anniversary, the Cleveland International Film Festival (CIFF) is proud to announce three exciting local brand partnerships that honor five decades of film, creativity, and community.

As CIFF lights up screens this April, festivalgoers can browse limited-edition pieces from Yellowcake Shop Clothing / The Valerie Mayén Collection, radiate in custom jewelry by Océanne and cool off with a signature CIFF50-inspired flavor from Mitchell’s Ice Cream.

A Sweet Collaboration with Mitchell’s Ice Cream

The Festival has partnered with Mitchell’s Ice Cream to debut a signature Birthday Cake flavor in honor of CIFF50. The celebratory flavor is available in all Mitchell’s scoop shops throughout April, giving fans a delicious way to toast the festival’s golden year.

“The Cleveland International Film Festival is one of Cleveland’s cultural treasures,” said Pete and Mike Mitchell. “As one of the country’s premier film festivals, CIFF brings a diverse array of exceptional independent films from filmmakers across the globe. We’re delighted to partner with CIFF as they celebrate their milestone 50th anniversary this April.”

Limited-Edition Fashion: Valerie Mayén Collection + Yellowcake Shop Clothing

CIFF50 style takes center stage with two limited-edition pieces designed by Cleveland fashion visionary Valerie Mayén. Through Yellowcake Shop Clothing and The Valerie Mayén Collection, Mayén has created a black bandana scarf featuring imagery from the official CIFF50 poster and a black leather bomber jacket with a striking gold-embroidered cuff.

“Since moving to Cleveland, CIFF has been my ‘second Christmas’—a seasonal treasure that fueled my early career through its iconic fim feasts and community spirit,” said Mayén. “Every spring, this festival transforms our city into a global stage, and at Yellowcake Shop Clothing/The Valerie Mayén Collection, we’ve crafted this collection to honor that legacy.

“This collaboration is where global narratives meet local craftsmanship. Just as CIFF brings the world to Northeast Ohio through the screen, we represent that same global reach through the diverse hands that sew our garments. These pieces are a thank you to an institution that proves world-class talent can be found right here at home,” Mayén said.

Wearable Film Magic from Océanne

Cleveland-based jewelry brand Océanne has created custom CIFF-themed charms designed exclusively for a commemorative festival charm necklace — a wearable tribute to 50 years of storytelling.

“CIFF has been a cornerstone of Cleveland’s creative community for 50 years, and it’s an honor for Océanne to be part of that legacy,” said owner and designer Anne Harrill. “We designed these pieces to celebrate the stories, artists, and shared moments that make independent film so powerful — a small, wearable tribute to the magic that happens when art and community come together.”

Available During CIFF50

All partnership items — including Mitchell’s Birthday Cake ice cream and the limited-edition merchandise — will be available during the Festival, with merchandise sold at the official CIFF shop at Playhouse Square.

As CIFF celebrates 50 years of championing bold storytelling and global voices, these collaborations spotlight the creativity and craftsmanship that make Cleveland’s arts community extraordinary.

“It’s more than a film festival—it’s a celebration of creativity, culture, and community,” said Executive Director Hermione Malone.

From sweet scoops to statement fashion to timeless keepsakes, CIFF50 invites audiences to celebrate in style — on screen and beyond.
