Community Programs

CIFF’s public programs cultivate, support, and champion inclusion and belonging while fostering understanding and appreciation of myriad cultures and communities. Through media literacy programs for students; professional development opportunities for educators and filmmakers; and year-round learning experiences for the general public, CIFF works collaboratively with an array of experts and community partners to deepen understanding of the world and catalyze positive change in our community through the power of film arts.

Community Partners

CIFF works with over 100 community partners through our Community Engagement Program. The program builds and strengthens partnerships with other nonprofits by connecting them to festival films relevant to their missions. The program further connects community partners with films and filmmakers to create unique educational engagements and programs throughout the festival and year.

Active Cinema

Is your organization interested in a long-term, collaborative partnership with CIFF? Our new Active Cinema initiative matches your organization and its work in the community with film programming year round. The program supports grassroots activism of filmmakers and helps turn ideas into positive change.

Note: Organizations must be classified as a 501(c)(3) or similar nonprofit organization. For-profit companies, colleges, universities, media, medical institutions, and governmental agencies are not eligible for participation.
